Betsy Dovydenas sued The Bible Speaks in 1986 for fraud, so the
ministry sought the protection of the bankruptcy court. Judge Queenan gave the
final ruling in May 1987 in the Worcester Bankruptcy Court, in the now-famous
decision where he accused Stevens of unprecedented clerical fraud.
While the entire case is interesting, the most important parts are contained in

This decision was appealed; the results of the Court of Appeals are
